Safety Network in the Community

Door-to-Door Community Outreach - The results are in from our community survey!  During two Leadership Council classes at West Sunset Rec Connect, young people and I went door-to-door asking community members for their thoughts on the Sunset.  Check out the anecdotal results to see what people had to say.

3rd Police and Community Meeting in Chinese - Dozens of Chinese-speaking members of the community attended the 3rd-ever police and community meeting in October.  They learned from SFPD's Vice Division about houses of prostitution and human traffiking.  Check out the photos.  The next meeting will be in February.

sfSunset.org, a Community Website
- Working with community members, Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center led by Safety Network is creating a neighborhood website.  Our first steering committee meeting was very fruitful and we're moving along in the process of building this online information and community-building hub for the Sunset.  Stay tuned as we will be seeking feedback soon!

Lights On Afterschool Rally - SNBC's Afterschol Programs and other neighborhood afterschool programs came out along Sunset Boulevard to support and celebrate afterschool programs as part of the national Lights on Afterschool celebration.  Students cheered and chanted and drivers honked in support.   The rally helped to highlight the importance of free and low cost afteschool programs to young people and their families and, best of all, the students had a great time! Check out the photos.
